More Tips for 2019 Weddings

Your wedding in 2019 is set to be the most important day of your life, so if you want to make it particularly memorable you could opt for one or two of the current wedding trends. Here are just a few for you to think about.

The Green Wedding

There has been an increase in sustainable weddings in recent years and research has shown that they are going to be particularly popular in 2019. The craft-sale site Etsy has stated that there are hundreds of thousands of searches recorded for environmentally-friendly items related to weddings. This includes greener confetti, table accessories and decorations and any alternative to plastic items such as straws. Couples are keener than ever to ensure that their big day does not create a vast amount of waste that ends up on landfill sites and with so many greener alternatives around, it is easier than ever to be environmentally-friendly.

Sleeves

Another royal wedding trend that seems to have been embraced by the world at large is for wedding dresses that have sleeves. Meghan Markle’s demure dress has captured the imagination of brides all over the world who want their sleeves to make a statement. The simplicity of Meghan’s dress has also started a trend, with brides opting for simple, unfussy designs.

Headpieces

The traditional veil appears to be out of favor at the moment as many brides choose a statement headpiece instead. A tiara or floral headband alone is becoming more popular and this is also a trend supported by royalty, as seen at Princess Eugenie’s wedding. For those going with a very simple design, a hair vine is a good choice. These can be simple, featuring only a few leaves and pearls, or be a little fuller. Hair combs are also a good choice. Those wearing their hair up can use them as decoration on the back of the head. For an environmentally-friendly choice, find one that is hand-made locally.

Wedding favors

Most brides and grooms hand out wedding favors on their big day – giving their guests something to remember the day. This year the big trend would seem to be for wine-themed favors. Think of cork wine stoppers or even personalized bottles of wine with the couple’s names and the date of the wedding on the label. For green wedding favors to give the day an environmentally-friendly touch, think about wild flower seeds or hand-made soaps.

The 90s

It might seem to be too soon for the 90s to make a comeback but apparently some wedding trends from that decade are being rediscovered by today’s brides. This includes hair slides to help to create simple but elegant hair styles and even rhinestones for those who want to add more than a little bit of bling to their big day.
